Sean Connolly's Blog

Ex Soldier and Author. I was just sixteen years old when I joined the Army and stayed for fifteen years - half my life was given to this band of brothers but in truth it was my whole life. British Army on the Rampage is a seies of autobiographical novels that tell it how it was - warts and all. I wasn't in the SAS, I don't think I killed many people and if I did it was an accident. These are just the stories of a hell of a good time with real friends and comrades and the life we llived, the pranks we got up to and the friendships formed. I make no apologies for the fact that these memoirs are humourous because all in all I had one hell of an outrageously good time. And if war is a serious business at least we had a lot of laughs on the way...

Sore fingers...

So I've finally got the feeling back in my fingers after signing so many copies of the BAOR paperback this Christmas! - To say I was surprised at some of the messages I had been requested to add to the inside covers of the good book for people's 'loved ones' would be a massive understatement... I thought I had seen it all in the Army, but seems I hadn't - there are obviously some very imaginative girls out there!

2014 has been a brilliant year for book sales - In excess of one thousand paperbacks were sold and over ten thousand e-books. A part of the proceeds from paperback sales have gone to support Byng House as part of The British Legion. The newly released Not My Father’s Apprentice and Surrogate Fathers join the very successful BAOR trilogy and Gunners ‘N’ Grenades.

In the New Year, Warning Order Belize, the audio book narrated by the amazing Jason Mills will be getting a big marketing push in newspapers, radio and (I've just heard) on tv!

Almost finally, the paperback version of Not my Father’s Apprentice will be published in March 2015. There will of course be a 'bit of a do' to launch the book to which you are all invited - secret orders and details to follow!

And finally, I would like to say a very special and personal thank you to everyone who has purchased my books in 2014. Everyone at Army Novels would like to wish you all a Very Happy & Successful New Year and look forward to your support in 2015.
Very best wishes,

Sean Connolly.
